More houseplants die from too much water than too little. A fixed “every Sunday” schedule ignores the one thing that matters: how dry the soil actually is.
Use the finger-test. Push a finger two knuckles deep into the soil. If it comes out with damp soil clinging on, wait. If it’s dry, it’s time to water — slowly, until water runs out of the drainage hole.
In a humid Gurgaon monsoon, most plants need water far less often than in the dry, AC-heavy summer. Let the plant and the soil set the pace, not the calendar.
